Gravel vs Crusher Dust: Which Should You Use?
They look similar in a pile and behave very differently once placed.
Crusher dust compacts
Crusher dust contains fine material that locks together when compacted, creating a firm, level surface. That makes it a strong base under pavers, patio stone and shed pads.
Gravel drains
Coarser gravel — especially clear stone with the fines washed out — keeps draining. That makes it right for trenches, drainage and driveway surfaces that need to shed water.
Choosing
- Patio or paver base: crusher dust
