Small-load delivery

Small Load Delivery in Fredericton and Central New Brunswick

Small Load Co. delivers small quantities of material — the loads that are too big for a car and too small for a full truck. That's the entire business, not a side service.

  • Any load under 4 tons — typically a few cubic yards of bulk material.
  • Bulk aggregates, landscaping materials and eligible building materials.
  • Residential driveways, rural properties and active jobsites.

What small load delivery covers

Most material suppliers are set up around full truckloads. If you need two yards of gravel or one pallet of pavers, you're often told to arrange your own transport. Small Load Co. exists to fill that gap.

We pick material up and deliver it in the quantity you actually need, to homes and jobsites across the Fredericton region. We are a delivery company — not a junk removal, excavation or landscaping company.

Our limit is weight: we deliver any load under 4 tons, carried on a truck and a standard 14 ft by 7 ft trailer. Pricing is quote-based, calculated from the material, quantity and distance to the delivery address.

Who this service is for

  • Homeowners without a truck or trailer
  • People who don't want to make five trips with bags in a car
  • Contractors who need one small load without stopping work
  • Property owners with tight or awkward driveway access

What we can deliver

  • Gravel, crusher dust, pea gravel, drainage stone and river rock
  • Topsoil, garden soil and mulch
  • Sand and landscape stone
  • Eligible building materials such as lumber, plywood, OSB, drywall, decking, fencing and pavers

How it works

  1. Tell us what you need delivered, roughly how much, and where it's going.
  2. We confirm the material is eligible for a small load and quote the delivery.
  3. You purchase or order the material, or we coordinate the pickup on your behalf where that applies.
  4. We pick the material up from the supplier or yard.
  5. We deliver and place it where you've asked, within safe access limits.

Important delivery considerations

  • Weight, not just volume, determines what a small load can carry.
  • Access matters: we need a safe, reachable spot to place the material.
  • Some oversized or hazardous items are not eligible: nothing over 4 tons, nothing that can't be secured on a 14 ft by 7 ft trailer deck, and no hazardous materials.

Frequently asked questions

How small is a small load?
Anything under 4 tons. That is small enough that a full truckload would be wasteful, and large enough that it isn't worth hauling in a car — usually a few cubic yards of bulk material, or a single supplier run of building materials.
What counts as a small load?
A small load is anything under 4 tons. In practice that covers most residential and small-jobsite orders: a few cubic yards of bulk material, or a manageable stack of eligible building materials. Because weight is the limit, dense materials such as wet gravel or sand reach 4 tons in fewer yards than light materials such as mulch.
Do you remove junk or haul away debris?
No. Small Load Co. is a delivery service, not a junk removal company. We bring materials to your property or jobsite.
Do I have to be home for the delivery?
You don't need to be home for the delivery. In most cases we just need clear instructions on where the material should go and safe access to that spot.
How do I get a price?
Send us the material, approximate quantity, pickup source if known, and the delivery address. Quotes usually come back within a couple of business days, and confirmed deliveries go onto the schedule as soon as possible.
