About building materials

Building material deliveries cover manufactured goods rather than bulk aggregate: dimensional lumber, plywood and OSB, drywall, roofing materials, decking, fencing materials, pavers and similar items.

Eligibility depends on size, weight and how safely the material can be secured for transport: under 4 tons, and it has to fit and tie down on a 14 ft by 7 ft trailer deck. We don't carry hazardous materials.

Common uses for building materials

  • Deck and fence builds
  • Renovations and interior finishing
  • Roofing and siding projects
  • Garage, shed and outbuilding builds
  • Forgotten items partway through a job

Building Materials for homeowners and contractors

Small Load Co. delivers building materials to residential properties and to active jobsites. Homeowners generally want a single manageable pile placed somewhere sensible; contractors generally want the material on site without sending someone to the supplier.

  • Homeowners without a truck or trailer
  • DIY builders who don't want three trips in a car
  • Contractors keeping their crew on the tools

Typical quantities

  • Typically one supplier run at a time
  • Length and weight limits apply: our deck is a standard 14 ft by 7 ft trailer, and loads stay under 4 tons. Longer material can sometimes be carried with a safe overhang — send the dimensions and we'll confirm.

Delivery considerations

  • Long material such as full-length lumber has a maximum length we can carry safely.
  • Weather-sensitive material like drywall needs a dry drop location.
  • Have your order number and supplier location ready when you request a quote.

Is building materials a good fit for a small load?

Yes — building materials is one of the materials small-load delivery exists for. If your project needs less than a full truckload, or your driveway can't take a full-size truck, a small load is usually the practical option.

How much building materials will you need?

Measure the length, width and depth of the area you're covering, then convert to cubic yards before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a small load?
A small load is anything under 4 tons. In practice that covers most residential and small-jobsite orders: a few cubic yards of bulk material, or a manageable stack of eligible building materials. Because weight is the limit, dense materials such as wet gravel or sand reach 4 tons in fewer yards than light materials such as mulch.
Do you remove junk or haul away debris?
No. Small Load Co. is a delivery service, not a junk removal company. We bring materials to your property or jobsite.
